Running has been a huge part of my life for the past 20 years.

I started running for fun as a preteen and began running competitively at Herndon High School (00′-04′). I continued my competitive running career at Georgetown University (04′-08′) on the Cross Country, Indoor, and Outdoor Track Teams.

At Herndon High School I held the 2 mile school record and was a member of the 4×800 and DMR school record teams. I was also top 10 all-time in cross country and second all-time for the mile.

At Georgetown University I specialized in the 3,000 meter steeplechase, and I finished my collegiate career 9th all-time in the steeplechase at Georgetown.

My running career throughout high school and college was largely successful, but I did not achieve all of my goals. During college, running started to feel more like a job than something I enjoyed doing, so after college I ran casually for many years without any serious competitive goals.

In 2015 after a long period without any regimented training, I felt like I needed to get some competition back into my life. I began competing on the roads running marathons and half-marathons. I’ve enjoyed everything about my second chapter of competitive running with road racing—the long buildups, the grind of running before or after a 9-5 work day, and the local running community. But most importantly, I began enjoying running in and of itself. Instead of running for a team, a coach, or a record, I run because I want to.

Since 2015, I’ve been thriving as an amateur runner. I’ve had success with first place finishes, numerous top 3 finishes, setting course records and personal records from track races in the 800 meters and mile to half-marathons and marathons, and even ultra trail races.
