VAN LIFE

When my very good friend bought an old sprinter van named “Ruby” and asked me to help outfit it for him to travel and explore the country with his wife and dog I couldn’t help but say Yes. Cost and functionality took precedence over clean details. The odd shape of the skeleton of the van made it a fun project. We experimented with sound deadening materials and different types of insulation. Ship lap cedar added a homey feel to it. We added a ceiling fan for condensation, a lofted bed with storage beneath, a pull out fridge and a cook station. It was a project based on trial and error. These photos are from our first go at it. Since then, we’ve made more modifications from lessons learned on the road living in a van.
